Best AI Tools for Writing Ecommerce Product Listings in 2026

Ten AI tools for Amazon, Etsy, eBay and Shopify listings, compared on what they do, what they cost and what sellers say about them in public reviews.

WizFalcon · Product listings

Listing tools

Disclosure: WizFalcon publishes this blog, and our Ecommerce AI Assistant is the first entry below. We placed it first because it's our product, not because we ranked it highest, and we describe it the same way as every other entry: what it does, what it doesn't, what it costs. Every other tool on the list is described from its own documentation and pricing page and from what users have written about it in public.

Most sellers don't need another AI writer. They need a draft that gets past the marketplace's listing rules, keeps the facts straight, and doesn't cost more than it saves. The tools below take very different approaches. Some are free and built into the marketplace. Some are general chatbots. Some are Amazon research suites with a listing writer bolted on, and some are catalog tools built for hundreds of SKUs at a time. The right choice depends on where you sell and how many products you have.

How we chose and checked these tools

Each entry draws on three kinds of sources:

  • Official documentation and help pages for what each tool does and the limits it states.
  • Published pricing pages, all checked on October 23, 2026. Prices change often, so follow the link before you buy.
  • Public user feedback from Trustpilot, G2, the Shopify App Store, Amazon's Seller Forums and Reddit. Quotes are verbatim and linked.

We left out tools that no longer focus on product copy. Writesonic is one example: its pricing page now sells AI-search visibility (GEO) and SEO plans starting at $79/month billed annually, not a product description writer.

A pattern ran through almost every source we read. The biggest risk with AI listings is invented or non-compliant facts, not weak copy. Amazon itself says that if you use its generated content, "you agree that you've reviewed it, and that it's accurate, complete, and compliant" (Amazon). Keep that in mind as you read the entries below.

1. WizFalcon Ecommerce AI Assistant (our product)

WizFalcon homepage

What it is: WizFalcon builds AI assistants for specific platforms. The Ecommerce AI Assistant writes titles, bullets, descriptions and tags for Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop and Walmart from the product facts you give it. You can describe a product, paste an existing listing to improve, or attach a CSV or photos, and it can rewrite one listing for several marketplaces.

Who it suits: Small sellers who list on more than one marketplace and want a draft that has already been checked against that marketplace's published rules. It's also a fit if you'd rather pay a small monthly amount than commit to a research suite.

Strengths:

  • It writes only from facts you confirm. When a shopper-relevant fact is missing, such as measured dimensions, material, fit or compatibility, it asks for it or lists it as missing instead of inventing it.
  • It runs a rules checklist. For Amazon US, the draft is checked against the 75-character title limit and Amazon's detail-page restrictions. Reviews, promotional wording, contact details and requests for reviews are left out, and each check is reported as pass, fail or unchecked. Limits it has no verified source for are marked unchecked rather than guessed.
  • It flags risky claims on every marketplace. Unconfirmed health and certification claims are flagged before you see the draft. These are the kind of claims that, as you'll see below, get real listings pulled.
  • It does more than text. It can edit your own product photos, for example swapping to a white background, while protecting labels and the product itself. It can also prepare store SEO fields: meta titles and descriptions, alt text, FAQs and Product JSON-LD.
  • It shows its work. You see the plan and credit cost before a task runs, results show their sources, and you export by copying fields or downloading a CSV that keeps your original fields.

Weaknesses (honestly):

  • It has no keyword search-volume data, so pair it with your own keyword research.
  • It doesn't connect to or publish to your store; you copy or import the results yourself.
  • Its detailed rule coverage is deepest for Amazon US and Etsy. For the other marketplaces it checks the specific limits it has a verified source for.
  • Photo edits need your review before you publish.

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Free plan usable without signing in, then Starter $10/mo, Pro $50/mo and Max $100/mo. See wizfalcon.com/pricing.

How to try it: The free plan works without signing in, so you can run it on one of your real products and compare the draft with what you use today.

2. ChatGPT

ChatGPT homepage

What it is: OpenAI's general-purpose assistant. Many sellers write listings in it with their own prompts.

Who it suits: Sellers who already know their keywords and their marketplace's rules, and who will check every claim themselves.

Strengths: It's flexible and cheap, and with good prompts it's often good enough. One FBA seller on Reddit wrote: "I created a few custom prompts tailored to different product types (home goods vs. supplements etc.) and it gives better titles and bullets than most VAs I've hired" (Reddit). Another argued that dedicated tools add little: "any good LLM such as claude, gemini and chatgbt pretty much do the same thing, just get all of the keywords for your product through cerebro magnet, export it to any of the LLMs" (Reddit).

Weaknesses: It doesn't know your product, it has no marketplace keyword data, and it won't stop you from using wording that triggers a policy flag. As one seller put it: "Actually, ChatGPT can't analyze your competitors directly. You need to review your competitors' titles and identify high search keywords" (Reddit). The compliance risk is real, too. In an Amazon Seller Forums thread about an ASIN flagged as a pesticide, the seller explained: "I got into this error because I was trying to optimize my messaging with ChatGPT, and we used the phrases "nonstick" and "Naturally antibacterial". This was simply human error combined with AI writing" (Amazon Seller Forums).

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Free; Go is $8/mo in the US and priced locally in some markets (OpenAI); Plus is $20/mo (OpenAI Help). Higher Pro tiers are listed on chatgpt.com/pricing.

3. Amazon's generative AI listing tools

Sell on Amazon homepage

What it is: AI built into Seller Central. It drafts a listing from a short description, up to three images, a web URL or a spreadsheet, and A+ Content Manager has generative features too. Amazon says "More than 1.3 million sellers have used our AI-powered listing tools, which can now generate more than 70% of required product attributes" (Amazon). The tools are available in the US and in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain (About Amazon EU).

Who it suits: Amazon sellers creating new listings who want the attributes filled in quickly at no extra cost.

Strengths: It costs nothing extra, it's already where you list, and it fills in the structured attributes that sellers often skip.

Weaknesses: Sellers on Amazon's own forums describe errors that are costly to catch. One wrote: "The problem is that you have to be super careful to check everything it has generated. Otherwise, small mistake will kill your product," adding that "Some of these words were included in the product title, description and bullet points by auto-generated content tool" (Seller Forums). Another reported: "Support finally informed us that we were automatically enrolled in an experimental AI program changing listings," with changes "like adding that an item had simulated pearls when it was a jade necklace with no pearls" and weight "significantly altered (20 grams to 40 pounds!)" (Seller Forums). Some of these threads are a year or more old, so the tools may have improved, but the lesson stands: check every field.

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): No separate charge; you need an Amazon seller account. Bulk generation is offered to Professional sellers (Seller Forums announcement).

4. Helium 10 Listing Builder

Helium 10 homepage

What it is: Helium 10 is an Amazon research suite. Its Listing Builder generates a title, five bullets and a description from your keyword bank. According to its help center it can use up to five images, pull "Rufus" insights from two ASINs, remove competitor brand names and borrow a brand voice from a competitor ASIN (Helium 10 KB).

Who it suits: Amazon sellers who already pay for Helium 10's keyword data.

Strengths: It's the only tool here that connects listing writing directly to Amazon keyword research and shows how well each keyword is covered as you write.

Weaknesses: It's Amazon-only, and AI generation is capped by plan. The help center lists "5 lifetime uses" on Platinum and "100 uses per month" on Diamond and above (Helium 10 KB). User sentiment is weak. Helium 10's Trustpilot profile is rated "Poor" at 2.1/5 (Trustpilot), and one reviewer wrote: "Platinum is still roughly $100 a month for a product that has been hollowed out piece by piece" (Trustpilot review). On Reddit, a seller who uses Helium 10 for keywords and another AI to write said: "Helium 10 has its own listing builder but it's pretty bad in my opinion" (Reddit).

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Platinum is $129/mo, or $99/mo billed yearly. Diamond is $359/mo, or $279/mo billed yearly. Enterprise starts at $1,499/mo billed annually (helium10.com/pricing).

5. Shopify Magic and Sidekick

Shopify Sidekick homepage

What it is: Shopify's built-in AI. Shopify calls Magic "a suite of free AI-powered features" (Shopify Help), and product descriptions are now generated through Sidekick in the admin (Shopify Help).

Who it suits: Shopify merchants who want a quick first draft for a single product without installing anything.

Strengths: It's free and already in your admin. One merchant said that, "Given just a little information can create a surprisingly compelling and accurate description" (Reddit).

Weaknesses: It's limited in scope. Shopify's built-in features page lists descriptions as supported but not titles, SEO fields, bulk editing or multi-language (Shopify App Store), and a Shopify staff member confirmed "there is currently no bulk option to use Shopify Magic for product descriptions" (Shopify Community). Shopify's own help page also cautions that "Generated text can include things such as product benefits even when you didn't list any explicitly, and facts based on other published content related to similar products." Another merchant summed it up: "TLDR - the AI kinda stinks, but it's ok for a first draft if you need help getting started" (Reddit).

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Included with Shopify plans.

6. eBay Magical Listing

eBay selling homepage

What it is: eBay's AI lister. It builds a listing from your photos, including the title, category, item specifics and pricing guidance. It's the default for new and reactivated listers in eBay's US mobile apps, and a bulk version lives in Seller Hub (3Dsellers; Digital Commerce 360).

Who it suits: Casual and resale sellers listing one-off items from a phone.

Strengths: It's fast and free, and it fills in item specifics, which matter for eBay search.

Weaknesses: Everything depends on identifying the item correctly. Value Added Resource reported that the AI "incorrectly identified the item as a ceramic decorative plaque, not a mousepad," and noted that the convenience "only works if the AI correctly identifies the item, otherwise the seller will have to delete all the wrong information filled in by eBay and redo the listing themselves" (Value Added Resource). Some sellers also find it hard to avoid. One Reddit user wrote: "You can't opt out of the "magical" AI lister, but you can switch to the business tool which will get rid of it" (Reddit).

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): No separate charge; normal eBay selling fees apply.

7. Jasper

Jasper homepage

What it is: An AI marketing platform. Its Product Description Agent, included in the Pro and Business plans, writes descriptions aligned to your brand voice, style guide and knowledge base, and Jasper says it scales to "thousands of SKUs" (Jasper).

Who it suits: Brands with a marketing team that needs product copy, ads and emails in one consistent voice.

Strengths: It has strong brand-voice controls, a knowledge base that grounds facts, product-image tools, and a policy of not training on customer data (Jasper pricing).

Weaknesses: It's priced for teams rather than solo sellers, and it doesn't check copy against marketplace rules. Jasper's Trustpilot profile is rated "Average" at 3.3/5 (Trustpilot). One reviewer wrote: "sometimes the outputs feel generic or need heavy editing. Still useful, just not perfect for precise or creative content" (Trustpilot review). Billing complaints recur, for example "A total nightmare to cancel" (Trustpilot review).

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Pro is $69/seat/mo, or $59 billed yearly, with a 7-day free trial. Business is custom (jasper.ai/pricing).

8. Hypotenuse AI

Hypotenuse AI homepage

What it is: An AI content platform aimed at ecommerce. It offers a product description generator plus other ecommerce content types in 40+ languages, and an enterprise tier with product information management (PIM), attribute enrichment, an AI quality checker and bulk image editing (Hypotenuse pricing). Its Shopify app is listed as "Tako SEO Description AI writer."

Who it suits: Mid-size and enterprise catalogs that need bulk enrichment and translation.

Strengths: It's built for batch work and integrates with Shopify. Hypotenuse says customer data doesn't train its model, and it holds SOC 2 Type II. It's rated 4.7 from 73 reviews on G2. Older Shopify reviews praise its speed: "the descriptions are great with minimum editing required" (Shopify App Store).

Weaknesses: Pricing is no longer published; even the Basic plan shows "Custom." The Shopify app's overall rating is 3.7 from 32 reviews, and the most recent review (July 2026) reads: "keep getting internal server error message cant open this app" (Shopify App Store). TechRadar's 2023 review called it "geared toward e-commerce" but warned "you will have to review everything before publishing" (TechRadar). That review predates the current pricing.

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Custom; contact sales (hypotenuse.ai/pricing).

9. Describely

Describely homepage

What it is: A bulk product-content tool. You define rule sets and brand voice, then generate descriptions across your catalog, with Shopify integration.

Who it suits: Sellers with dozens to hundreds of SKUs who want to pay per product rather than per month.

Strengths: The pricing is simple and the bulk workflow is strong. Reviews on its Shopify app praise exactly that: "Describely's ability to create several rule sets and then customize each of the rule sets with multiple sequential steps, brand voice, etc really make it a powerful tool," and "the bulk editing is a godsend" (Shopify App Store). A Reddit user made the contrast with chat tools: "ChatGPT lets you write one description at a time, but Describely lets you write for all your products at the same time" (Reddit).

Weaknesses: It's description-focused and doesn't run marketplace-specific policy checks.

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): Pay as you go at $0.75 per product for up to 500 products, with unlimited generations per product. The first five products are free with no card required, and high volume is custom (describely.ai/pricing).

10. Copy.ai

Copy.ai homepage

What it is: Once a popular copywriting app, Copy.ai now positions itself as a go-to-market (GTM) AI platform for sales and marketing teams. Product descriptions are one of many things it can write.

Who it suits: Teams already using Copy.ai for sales and marketing who want product copy in the same place.

Strengths: The Chat plan includes five seats and lets you choose among OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models (Copy.ai pricing). It's rated 4.7 from 180 reviews on G2.

Weaknesses: It isn't built for marketplace listings, and its Trustpilot profile is rated "Poor" at 1.8/5 (Trustpilot). Reviewers mention support and overlap with ChatGPT: "experience is ok, support was slow. Not needed anymore as most of it is done by chatgpt" (Trustpilot review) and "No response for months even after several messages" (Trustpilot review).

Pricing (checked Oct 23, 2026): The Chat plan is $29/mo, or $24/mo billed yearly at $288/yr. The GTM plans run $1,000 to $3,000/mo billed yearly (copy.ai/prices).

How to choose: practical advice

Start with what's free and already in your workflow. If you sell on a single marketplace, try its built-in AI first: Amazon's listing tools, Shopify Magic or eBay's Magical Listing. They cost nothing extra. Just treat their output as a draft, because the sellers quoted above found invented attributes, wrong product types and wrong item identification.

Separate keywords from writing. Several sellers on Reddit describe the same setup: a research tool for keywords, then a language model to write. If you already pay for Helium 10 or a similar suite, use its keyword data. The writing step can be cheaper than its Listing Builder.

Count your SKUs before you pick a pricing model. For a handful of products, a monthly plan of $0–$20 is enough. For hundreds, per-product pricing like Describely's, or a catalog tool like Hypotenuse, may work out better than writing one product at a time in a chat.

Make compliance your first filter, not your last. The most expensive AI mistakes in our sources were compliance mistakes, not dull copy. Examples include "antibacterial" triggering a pesticide flag, invented materials, and altered weights. Whatever tool you choose:

  • Give it only confirmed facts.
  • Strip health, antimicrobial and certification claims you can't document.
  • Check the marketplace's own limits (for example, Amazon US titles are capped at 75 characters).
  • Read every field before publishing.

If you sell on several marketplaces, look for a tool that writes from one set of product facts but adapts to each marketplace's rules. That is the gap we built the WizFalcon Ecommerce AI Assistant to fill.

Watch for cancellation terms and usage caps. Billing complaints show up in Jasper's Trustpilot reviews, and Helium 10's AI generation limits differ sharply by plan. Read the terms before you choose annual billing.

The bottom line

No tool on this list removes the need to check facts and policies yourself. The free built-in tools are the right starting point for single-marketplace sellers. ChatGPT plus your own keyword research covers a lot of ground cheaply. Helium 10 makes sense mainly if you already rely on its data. Jasper, Copy.ai and Hypotenuse are aimed at teams and larger catalogs, and Describely is a good fit for bulk work paid per product. If you list the same product in several places and want rule checks built into the draft, WizFalcon's Ecommerce AI Assistant is built for that, and its free plan lets you try it on a real product.

Prices and features were checked on October 23, 2026, and change often. Confirm them on each vendor's pricing page.
